Remedies' Annual Ball

Remedies Renewing Lives will hold their Annual Remedies Ball on Saturday,
November 19, 2011 from 6pm - 11pm at the Radisson Hotel and Conference Center,
200 S. Bell School Road, Rockford, Illinois.

First Rockford Group and WREX Channel 13 are sponsors for the Remedies Ball.  The Ball will include a dinner, our guest speaker Carolyn Cox a nationally renowned speaker and domestic violence survivor. Rockford’s award winning Clutch Cargo Band, with a live and silent auction. Dani Maxwell and Eric Wilson from WREX will emcee the evening’s activities.  All profits from the event go to support Remedies services in the community.

A Story of Survival Luncheon

Wednesday, October 26, 2011 from Noon to 2:00 p.m.at the Radisson Hotel

BMO Harris Bank is proud to sponsor A Story of Survival.  Carolyn Cox will be telling her story of surviving domestic violence.  She was married for forty-three years, living in an abusive marriage and she was attacked and nearly murdered on September 13, 2004.  She was repeatedly bludgeoned for a period of about six hours and ultimately placed in the garage with two running vehicles.  When she was found, she was near death and had to be airlifted to save her life.  Now, approximately half of her face is metal and she has permanent injuries.  However, she is resilient and determined to bring attention to domestic violence.  Carolyn has spoken extensively throughout the United States.

Carolyn’s presentation and luncheon will support Remedies Renewing Lives’ (formerly WAVE) domestic violence services. 

The presentation and luncheon will be held during Domestic Violence Awareness Month on Wednesday, October 26, 2011 from Noon to 2:00 p.m.at the Radisson Hotel and Conference Center, 200 S. Bell School Road, Rockford, Illinois.
